Pensacola, FL- The Pensacola Museum of Art (PMA) continues its spring blockbuster exhibition "Rodin; In His Own Words, Sculpture" from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation sponsored by AmSouth Bank and WEAR-TV3.
The exhibition will be on display through June 18.
Featuring over 30 bronze sculptures of small and large-scale works including The Thinker; The Burghers of Calais, First Maquette; Head of Balzac; and Venus, this show will encompass many of Rodinšs most notable works. As the title, Rodin: In His Own Words, indicates the sculptures will be paired with quotes by the sculptor taken from works penned under his own name as well as biographies, interviews and letters. An educational component is also included that describes the casting process. At the height of his career Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) was considered the greatest sculptor since Michelangelo.
This exhibition is organized and made possible by the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation and is sponsored by AmSouth Bank and WEAR-TV3.
