‘Ladies only’ 5k Run is May 28
PENSACOLA, Fla. – On Saturday, May 28, 2005, the inaugural "Once, Twice, Three Miles a Lady" 5k Run/Walk will bring women together for a worthwhile cause.
Sponsored by the Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation, the event is designed to promote healthy living in our community while helping to raise money for the Foundation.
The 5k Run/Walk will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 28. The route begins and ends at Baptist Hospital, with a scenic loop through North Hill in between. Every finisher will receive an event t-shirt and goody bag.
Race applications are now available. Entry fees are as follows: $15 for advance registration and $12 for students. A $5 fee will be added for non-student race day registration.
Registration is available in advance at Baptist Health Care Foundation, 1010 W. Blount St., or on-line at www.ebaptisthealthcare.org/F oundation. Race packets will be available for pickup May 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for all those registering in advance.
Event volunteers will be on-hand to assist with race day registration and packet distribution from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at Baptist Hospital.
A post-race party will be held immediately following the event. Refreshments, music, massages and prizes will be included in the festivities. In addition, free health information and screenings will be available.

The Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for community health programs, indigent care and new medical technology. Since its establishment in 1975 the Women’s Board has raised more than $1.1 million for health care programs.
