Gulf Islands National Seashore will present "A Candlelight Tour of Fort Barrancas" on Saturday, February 11, 5-7:15 p.m.

The free tour highlights Pensacola’s involvement in the Civil War. In addition, the Fort Barrancas Visitor Center with museum exhibits, audiovisual programs, and bookstore will remain open during the tour times.

Up in the northeast night sky, a reminder of Spring coming; look for the bowl of the Big Dipper to rise, with the top two stars, the pointers, giving you a line to find Polaris, the Pole Star. If you take the pointers south, however, you are guided instead to the head of Leo the Lion rising in the east, looking much like the profile of the famed Sphinx.
