UWF to offer Opera Master class
The University of West Florida Department of Theater and Pensacola Opera will offer an opera master class March 9 at 1 p.m. in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts Music Hall, Bldg. 82. Timothy Kennedy, director of Education and Community Outreach for Pensacola Opera, will lead the class, which is free and open to public.
The class will feature Pensacola Opera 2005 Artists in Residence Annie Burridge, soprano; Elise Quagliata, mezzo-soprano; Kelly Markgraf, baritone; and Chip Cothran, piano. In addition to the artists singing operatic and musical theater pieces, the singers will cover audition techniques as well as advice on how to traverse the professional world of performance. The master class is open to and appropriate for performers of all genres including actors, singers, and instrumentalists. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
