Historic Pensacola Village hosts open house PENSACOLA Historic Pensacola Village will hold its 14th Annual Summer Open House June 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission to all museums and historic homes is free and open to the public during the event. The Open House kicksoff the summer season when Village operating hours change to Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Our Open House offers the community an action-packed and exciting glimpse of past Pensacola history,” said Gale Messerschmidt, coordinator of museum operations for West Florida Historic Preservation, Inc. “We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a variety of historical craft demonstrations and living history re-enactments. Visitors can expect to see historic uniformed soldiers firing artillery and historic crafters churning butter, woodworking, caning, basket weaving, quilting and shoe making. Irish dancers and dulcimer musicians will also entertain the crowd.” Several other area museums will be open during the event free of charge including the T.T. Wentworth, Jr.
Florida State Museum, the Pensacola Historical Museum, the African-American Heritage Society, the Pensacola Museum of Art and the Quina House. Historic Pensacola Village is located at 205 E. Zaragoza Street in downtown Pensacola.
