It’s July ...... Celebrate!

Welcome to the July issue of Splash, your guide to all the entertaining events for mid Summer.

Starting off, the skies will be active with the popular Blue Angels Airshow on July 1 and 2.

Pensacola Beach officials caution show attendees to arrive early, pack plenty of water and wear sunscreen.

At nightfall on Monday, July 4, the skies will light up with fireworks marking the celebration of our nation’s birthday. See page 3 for details on both events.

Like baseball? Then head out to Pelican Park this month for baseball and lots of great events.

As lazy days of summer stretch into fall, try fishing from one of the many locations. This month, Mark Clabaugh tells you what to use for bait and how to hook a keeper.

And, if you’re adventurous, Josh Kinser can tell you how to fish from a kayak, getting farther up into the areas where “cornmeal’s better half” is lurking.

Beach readers should check out Elizabeth Doehring’s recommendation for this month. It’s a short story compilation that’s light and perfect for enhancing your sunbathing experience.

Nick Rupert visits Sluggo’s live entertainment venue for a full report on the music scene, and if you like your music al fresco, the concert series, “Evenings in Olde Seville Square” continues with great live music every Thursday.

Later this month, enjoy wine tasting and an art auction in the outdoor Harbourtown Shopping Village. It promises to be a great event.

No matter how you choose to spend your time this month, keep safety a priority.

See you next month,

Lisa and Vici
