Montel still battling M.S. By Evelyn Green
 | | Montel Williams |
| Q: I read that Montel Williams is now cured of multiple sclerosis. I would like to know why this news hasn’t been given more publicity. — Robert L.
A: I checked out the article you refer to in your letter. It states that Montel Williams is on a mission to find a cure for multiple sclerosis, and to that end he has established the Montel Williams MS Foundation, which is focused on research into what causes MS and what may ultimately cure it. But, as this is being written, Williams still has MS. ***
Q: What is the TV show that Freddie Prinze Jr. and his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, plan to star in?
— Lisa J.
A: Prinze will star in ABC’s new sitcom “Freddie.” However, Madchen Amick (“Twin Peaks”), not Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), will do costar honors, although Gellar may turn up as a guest on the show at some point.

Q: I just read that two jurors in the Michael Jackson trial felt pressured to vote “not guilty,” although they believe he really is a child molester. Can the case now be reopened? — Ernest J.
A: Michael Jackson cannot be retried for the same offense for which he was found not guilty. If he were, this would mean he would face double jeopardy, which is not permitted under the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Q: What happened to Gwyneth Paltrow? I read that since she became a mother, she’s not so sure she wants to continue her acting career. Is this true? — Jessie McD.
A: Paltrow says she loves being a mom — loves being with her child. She also loves acting, but would only work in films she felt were absolutely right for her. And, apparently, she’s found one in “Dirty Tricks,” which focuses on the women of Watergate. She’ll play Maureen Dean, wife of John Dean, who warned President Nixon that there was a cancer on the White House. The all-star cast also includes Meryl Streep as Martha Mitchell, wife of Attorney General John Mitchell, whom she defended in the press, only to have him leave her later on for another woman. Jill Clayburgh plays Pat Nixon, the president’s wife, and Annette Bening plays Helen Thomas, the intrepid White House wireservice correspondent who is now a syndicated columnist with Hearst. Paltrow’s exbeau, Brad Pitt, is one of the film’s producers, and there’s some talk that his current lady love, Angelina Jolie, might do a cameo. Have a question for Evelyn?
