COMPOSERFEST or BUST! Event rescheduled for Oct. 16
The organizers of Pensacola ComposerFest are more determined than ever to hold the concert that has been canceled twice because of hurricanes.
Everyone is invited to the free event 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Pensacola Junior College, Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Bldg. 8, on the Pensacola campus.
The inaugural musical affair presents nine Gulf-Coast area composers: Richard Adams, Eugene Adkins, Barry Brosch, Michael Coleman, Matthew Fossa, Tim Jackson, Khadisha Onalbayeva, David Ott, and Jerry Sieg.
The pieces to be played include works for violin, oboe, piano, tuba, double bass, and woodwind quintet.
“The purpose of Pensacola ComposerFest is to give the public an opportunity to hear music written by local performers and performed by local artists,” says Fossa, a PJC music instructor who plays principal oboe with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra.
For more information, contact Fossa at mfossa@pjc.edu or call 4841869.
