Florida's own burrowing owl stars in film

2006-06-01 / Home

Three Florida middleschoolers and Florida's own subspecies of burrowing owl star in the just-out mystery adventure film "HOOT" based on Carl Hiaasen's Newbery Award-winning book of the same name.

Protected as a species of "special concern" by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the burrowing owl occurs throughout Florida. Watch for this star in your own backyard!
