Pensacola Beach Boardwalk booming
Capt'n Fun and Bamboo Willies prove there is 'nightlife after Ivan'
Over a year and a half after Ivan, insurance battles, architects, engineers, three tropical storms and another Hurricane... Capt'n Fun Beach Club is now reopened and is bigger, better and brand new! An additional 18,000 sq. feet of the club will now fill the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk .
Conveniently situated a short stroll from Bamboo Willie's on the Boardwalk, Capt'n Fun is the Panhandle's largest open-air beach club. Featuring Fat Tuesday frozen drinks sure to cool off any beach goers' day, or to be enjoyed at night along with live music, Bamboo Willie's is a true locals and tourist favorite.
Both Boardwalk clubs are open-air, with drop down protection available when foul weather requires some additional barrier. United by the strolling b o a r d w a l k bordered by shops and dining spots, this entertainment center overlooks Q u i e t w a t e r Sound. The m a s s i v e complex will delight the young and young at heart with music and atmosphere targeted to those 21 50 years old.
C l a i m i n g the Island's best Bushwackers, Capt'n Fun also offers an oyster bar, so eat 'em raw or get 'em steamed at the new Oyster Bar under the thatched hut.
The Boardwalk is a great place to enjoy during the day for shopping and strolling, and by night you can "tapa hop" from Hemingways to Hooters, then dance the night away between Bamboo Willies and Capt'n Fun. Re-energized and rebuilt, the Boardwalk is once again the hot spot at the center of the beach, well within walking distance to other local favorites like the Sand Shaker, Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill, Paddy O'Leary's and Paradise Bar and Grill.
