Come hungry to the Beulah Sausage Festival March 17-19
18 Nashville hits Northwest Florida for the 20th anniversary of the Beulah Sausage Festival, March 17-19, 2006. The three-day event will feature top stars such as Erika Jo, Jamie O'Neal, and Phil Vassar, presented by 2006 Saturn VUE. In addition, country music fans will be able to enjoy nearly 100 arts and crafts vendors, rides and games for kids, local entertainment all weekend, and great food.
Erika Jo will take the stage at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 17. Fans will certainly want to hear her country-rockin' debut single, "I Break Things," and enjoy a live performance of the songs on her self-titled album. Viewers of the USA Network's "Nashville Star" are sure to recognize Erika Jo as last April's winner of the talent competition series. Erika Jo is not only the first female to win the top prize, at age 18, she is also the youngest winner. In its third year, last season's series also brought in the highest ratings so far.
On Saturday, March 18, Jamie O'Neal will entertain fans for two performances at 3 p.m. and at 9 p.m. O'Neal is not only a talented singer, she is an award-winning song writer and has co-written nine of the 11 songs on her latest album, "Brave." Although, O'Neal is best known for her pair of number one hits "There is No Arizona" and "When I Think About Angels," both of which earned her Grammy nominations for 'Country Song of the Year.'
Phil Vassar closes the weekend with a performance at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19. Vassar is a pianist, performer, and songwriter whose latest album, "Shaken Not Stirred," is the most compelling yet. Each song tells story; about the joys of friendship present ("Good Ole Days") and past ("Dancin' With Dreams"), the changing textures of life ("I Miss the Innocence"), and the transition from irresponsible youth to adulthood ("In a Real Love"). Fans may also get a sneak peek of songs to come out on his next album due for release this spring.
