Musical Echoes Native American Festival celebrates native arts April 27 30
Musical Echoes a Native American Festival, set at the foot of an ancient Indian Temple Mound and market place in Ft. Walton Beach, includes music and dance performances by Native American award winning artists Bill Miller , Jeff Ball, Robert Tree Cody, Coyote Oldman, Billy Whitefox, FiddlerArvel Bird, Raymond Redfeather, Nation of Change and others.
Musical Echoes began in 2001 and was attended by 3,500 people, most of whom were local residents. Since that meager start Musical Echoes has become a world class event recognized around the country as the no one American Indian music, dance and art event and by 2005 had an estimated attendance of 20,000 people, including 1500 out-of-town guest and 7 families who traveled from over seas to attended this nationally recognized event. 25,000 people are expected to attend the 2006 Musical Echoes held at the Landing, a waterfront park located in downtown Ft. Walton Beach Florida. Things began at 10 in the morning and end in the evening with concert under the stars. Sundays action begins t 11am and the festival ends with a concert that begins at 3pm and ends at 5pm
The goal of Musical Echoes is to create a Native American celebration of the arts. This wholesome alcohol-free event is an excellent way for families to spend time together and experience this nation's rich Native American culture at a location that is rich with history and culture. Radio Live will be held Wednesday April 27th at 6.30pm . Presented by WUWF radio at the Museum of Commerce in Pensacola Florida, featuring Jeff Ball, Billy Whitefox, Raymond Red Feather, Ed Wind dancer, Arvel Bird, Dr. Michael DeMaria and Coyote Oldman.
There will be several work shops on Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29 from 8 am till 4:30 pm featuring flute making, block carving, flutes of the world, cane flute making and other.
Join with Native American craftsmen and women April 28, 29 and 30 as they demonstrate their arts and sell their wares. Attend seminars and learn to make and/or play a Native American-style flute and share an evening of music with our GRAMY and NAMY winning artist Bill Miller, Jeff Ball, Robert Tree Cody, Arvel Bird, Billy Whitefox, Ed Wind Dancer, Coyote Oldman , Dr. Michael DeMaria, Nation of Change Dancers and others as they perform live in concert Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
