John was married to Eva, but not Longoria
Evelyn Green

Q: Please, please, please settle a question my sister and I have about John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld," "Dancing With the Stars"). She says he was once married to Eva Longoria of "Desperate Housewives" when they were both on "The Young and The Restless." don't think so. - Bobbie S.

A: The multi-talented O'Hurley was never married to Eva Longoria. However, there are some interesting coincidences: His first wife was an Eva - Eva LaRue - who later married another Hibernian named John - in this case, John Callahan - who was her soap castmate on "All My Children."

Also, O'Hurley, who now stars in the Broadway hit "Chicago," did his stint on "Y&R" as Dr. James Grainger, the biological father of Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) a decade before Longoria joined the soap as Isabella Williams.

*** Q: I'm curious about the title, "Dame," that Elizabeth Taylor got, and was wondering what it stands for. When I was growing up, for woman to be called a dame was an insult. - Margaret B.

A: A Dame is the female equivalent of a knight, who is called Sir. The honor is bestowed by the reigning monarch in recognition of achievements in industry, science, the arts, sports, government, etc. Several actresses have become Dames over the years: Besides Elizabeth Taylor, two that come to mind are Dame Judi Dench of the Bond movies, and Dame Diana Rigg of "The Avengers" series. The title Dame has also been awarded as a religious honor within the Benedictine order.

Q: As a fan going back to when he played Little Beaver in the Red Ryder movies, I would like to know if Robert Blake will work again. Also, I always wondered where he got his nickname, Mickey? - Edward M.

A: Robert Blake, who was found not guilty of killing his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, says he plans to go back to work as an actor. Said to be bankrupt after paying legal fees, the 72year-old Blake, who was ordered to pay Bakley's family $30 million in damages in a civil suit, is currently working for several friends. There are rumors of a production deal in the works for the former "Baretta" star, but no confirmation.

Blake's nickname, Mickey, comes from his real name, Michael James Bubitosi.

NOTE: A reader, Amos R., wanted to know how to get a copy of the 1984 film "Heart Sounds," starring James Garner and Mary Tyler Moore. My thanks to Les L., who advises Amos R. "to try listing his wants on the eBay wanted items or looking under movies for sale."
