Pensacola is known nation-wide for being the hometown of several professional sports stars and the cradle of Naval

aviation, and may soon be known as home base for the promising teen hiphop group 3D. The trio is pushing a hype party sound with a youthful appeal on their new single "3D Party" which hit radio airwaves in late February, and their debut album "Boys Will Be Boys," that will be in stores May 16. The album f e a t u r e s c o l l a b o r a t i o n s with musical heavy hitters like Roy Jones Jr., John John from Silk and R&B

singer Tre'.

"We're at an age where we like to have fun, so we make our music to reflect our personalities. Our songs are made to

get people on their feet, we want to see people dancing and having a good time, '3D Party' definitely makes you bounce to it," said 16-year-old D.

The bond between the members of this group is what makes their music so energetic and optimistic. Dre and DJ are the 14-year-old twin sons of boxing champion Roy Jones Jr., with their cousin D rounding out the trio. Each of the members lends a special appeal to the group. Dre is a laid-back rapper with sharp lyrics and unbelievable flow, DJ brings excitement and energy to the crew and D has an animated approach with a c h a r i s m a t i c personality that s y s t e m a t i c a l l y balances each of his partners-in-rhyme.

With one listen to songs from their upcoming release "Boys Will Be Boys" and it is obvious that this Pensacola, Florida-based group knows how to make music that fans of all ages will enjoy.

"We like to do whatever it takes to have fun," D said. "Just like our album title, 'Boys Will Be Boys.' That's just us. Our album is a lot of fun stuff because that's what we're about. We're about enjoying the moment and living in the moment."

3D, which stands for Determined, Dangerous and Divine, understand the precedent they set as

artists and the significance of their uplifting, profanityfree music.

"I think people will respond to our music, because you don't have to think about it, just enjoy it," D said. "We're trying to set a standard for other teenagers and let them know they don't have to curse and get in trouble to be cool, it's all right to be respectful. That's why we rap about sports, girls and having fun, things kids our age know something about," said DJ.

3D are currently on tour supporting their pending album release. For more information about the band including member biographies, tour dates and locations, visit
