Navarre Fun Fest: free fun for the family
Navarre Fun Fest 2006 celebrates its 22nd anniversary on June 24 and 25 at the Navarre Park with fireworks, arts and crafts, live entertainment, children's area, 5K Run/Walk, Corporate Challenge, food and fun!
Fun Fest Chairwoman, Stacy Dahlberg, promises plenty of fun at this year's Fun Fest. "We want everyone to come and participate," she said. "The Navarre Park on the sound recently endured renovations and park upgrades. Plus, we have lots of family fun and free entertainment."
The Fun Fest is free and the Navarre Park creates the perfect setting for fireworks, an artist showcase, local bands, a children's play area, the Corporate Challenge, and savory food. Fun Fest goers can visit with the Pensacola Ice Pilots tea.m.members and Pensacola Pelican's Swoop mascot and players.
And it's not too early to register for the Fun Fest 5K, benefiting the Navarre YMCA building fund. The 3.1 mile run/walk will be Sunday, June 25, at 7 a.m., starting and finishing behind Regions Bank on Highway 98 in Navarre. Runners and walkers in various age groups are eligible for awards with the first 200 participants receiving a commemorative Fun Fest tshirt!
