June is an exciting time of year...
June is a wonderful month when we first embrace summer! It's a time to

return to the beach, venture back into our yards and dive into Gulf waters and pools. Boats and jet skis are launched and we feel and taste the salt air as we race through the sound, waving at friends and strangers alike who are enjoying the same great joy.

It's an exciting time when we embrace thousands of visitors who chose to come to our area and we realize that we are truly blessed to already be here. As travelers ourselves, we know the excitement of leaving our own home towns to visit another area, and so we welcome those who join us on the Florida Gulf Coast as visitors and new arrivals.

After putting the Gulf Breeze News to bed last week, we drove over to the beach to enjoy dinner, and we both noticed it an excitement in the air. Not only are we not predicted to be the center of hurricane target practice this year, but we are surrounded by signs of regeneration and recovery. It is good to be in this blessed place, and we are lucky to share the experience with others through Splash! magazine. Scour its pages and discover the wonderful things to do in our area, and dive in to all it has to offer.

Don't forget the simple things like tumbling in Gulf waves or searching for seashells. I realized last week that amidst all the hurricane recovery chaos I have not been in the Gulf for two years, and that is now at the top of my "to-do" list. Make your list and enjoy!
