Feel good music by Ray & Valerie fills 'Evenings in Olde Seville' June 1
Feel good music is on the program for the second Evenings in Olde Seville Square concert of the season from 7-9:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 1. Opening the evening will be the popular duo Ray & Valerie entertaining the crowds with a little of everything, from blues to show tunes.
The evening continues with John Wooten & KAISO! Caribbean Band featuring steel drums and native instruments, playing a variety of styles including calypso, soca, jazz, salsa, samba, reggae and funk, filling the air with island rhythms.
When attending concerts, bring a lawn chair or a blanket for seating. Also, bring your appetite! Located on Alcaniz Street, concession stands offer hot dogs, barbecue, nachos, snacks and the "Evening's" famous freshly-popped popcorn as well as frozen desserts, soft drinks and bottled water.
Since 1988, these musicfilled evenings have become a "new" tradition, recreating the popular concerts held in the city's park at the turn of the 19th century. The 2006 summer season features 14 concerts with a wide variety of musical talents and tastes each Thursday from 7-9:15 p.m. in historic Seville Square.
June is the perfect time to enjoy music in Seville Square, and it's still temperate enough to come early and enjoy a picnic dinner while you are at it.
