Fireworks, fun spark July 4th across NW Florida

The sky over Pensacola Bay will light up with Sertoma's 4th of July Celebration, the largest 4th of July celebration on the Gulf Coast. But the fun of this family-oriented, patriotic celebration in downtown Pensacola begins earlier in the day, long before the sun sets. Activities feature a large children's area beginning at 10 a.m., live entertainment, a patriotic parade, arts and crafts, food vendors and other activities culminating in a huge fireworks display at 9 p.m. over Pensacola Bay.

There will be no fireworks on Pensacola Beach, but the regularly scheduled Tuesday night Blues on the Beach will feature After Hours. The free concerts occur every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m., May through August at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.

Independence Day Fireworks will start at 8:30 p.m. at Destin Commons. Bring the entire family out for a spectacular fireworks extravaganza as 49-head pop fountains will be shooting up and down for the kids, along with Zachary the stilt walker and face painting. Fireworks will light up the skyline of Destin Commons to America's favorite patriotic songs as a military appreciation tribute. Lawn chairs and blankets welcome.
