Fans can't get enough of Spader on "The Practice" by Evelyn Green
Q: I thoroughly enjoy James Spader's portrayal of smarmy lawyer Alan Shore on "Boston Legal." Someone told me Spader's character had first appeared on "The Practice." Which season was he in, and is it available on DVD yet? -Pat B., Cape Coral, Fla.
A: I, too, can't get enough of Alan Shore; the pairing of Spader with William Shatner is utter genius. Spader's Shore was introduced during the eighth and final season of "The Practice" as an ethically challenged anti-trust lawyer who was fired from his firm for embezzling. In the current era where a TV series is released on DVD a few weeks after the season ends, it is surprising that none of the seasons of "The Practice" have been released on DVD yet. And that's a darn shame.
Q: I just saw "Spanglish" with Adam Sandler. His co-star, Paz Vega, should have received an Oscar for her acting in the film. What can you tell me about her? -B. Thompson, Bedford, Ind.
A: The Spanish beauty was born in January 1976, and her name translates to "peace meadow." She has been married since 2002 to Orson Salazar. Vega got her start in television in her native Spain. Although she had been in numerous films prior to "Spanglish," it was considered her "breakout role" to American audiences. Her next film, "Fade to Black," will be released later this year and also stars Danny Huston, Diego Luna and Christopher Walken.

| Q: Does Tiger Woods have any children? I know he got married a few years ago, but I haven't heard if they have had any children yet. -Margaret N., Durham, N.C.
A: Woods, who recently returned to golf after a short hiatus to mourn the death of his father, has been wed to Elin Nordegren since October 2004, but they have yet to spawn any mini Tigers. A funny tidbit: Woods' nickname on the Stanford University golf team was "Urkel," after Jaleel White's nerdy character on "Family Matters."
Q: The last episode of the WB's "Everwood" was never put in our newspaper's TV listings, so I and several friends missed it. We were wondering if Nina accepted Andy's marriage proposal. Can you find out for us all in Denton, Texas? -June P., via e-mail
A: In a word, "Yes." Andy asked Nina to marry him in her front yard, at the spot where they first met four years earlier. I was able to watch the scene from the comfort of my computer on my favorite video Web site, YouTube.com. Simply go there and type "Everwood Finale" into the search bar, and you will find the entire episode, in nine parts, downloaded to the site. Happy watching!
