There is just so much to do!
So you say you are bored? Can't find anything to do? Then you need to pick

up Splash! magazine every month and open your mind to all that is happening in Northwest Florida!

For the party animals, summer is not over. Labor Day weekend offers many opportunities to dance and play, starting at the Portofino Boardwalk for Jamaican Fest and moving down Via de Luna to Paddy O's and Paradise Bar and Grill for more musical fun.

Shakerfest starts Sept. 15 and is a traditional favorite event for both visitors and locals alike, toasting that delicious, icey smooth beverage, the Bushwacker. Sandshaker is the home of the original Bushwacker, so don't miss this special salute weekend. Shakerfest will also include a Shaker Queen competition and coronation, and a Shaker Idol battle with $500 prizes!

And Sept. 17 marks the Half Way to St. Patty's Day party at Paddy O'Leary's - so sip a cold Irish brew and sing along!

For the ecotourist within, if you can tear yourself away from the crystalline waters and sugar white sands of our coastal beaches, yo need to head north and check out the beautiful forests and waterways. Canoeing on the rivers and camping in the numerous state parks is a great get-away to plan as the evening air cools down and the sun begins to move lower on the horizon. Over night canoe trips on the Coldwater or Blackwater Rivers provide just the right ambience for story telling and family fun.

Head even further north to beautiful Lake Martin, our featured day-trip for September. It's still hot enough to swim, and cool enough to stay outside all day long!

Truth is, we've been lucky about avoiding tropical weather or hurricanes, so why not celebrate? Enjoy our lovely area with friends and family, soak up the last of summer! It's Indian summer now, so don't miss a day as fall is on its way...
