Playful comedienne Chelsea Handler gets serious about cooking
As star of her own show on the E! Entertainment Network, Chelsea Handler's devoted fans can't seem to get enough of her unique brand of offbeat humor. Her stand-up routines are legendary, and her laugh-out-loud satirical skits have landed this New Jersey native at the top of the comedy world.
Chelsea was the star of Oxygen's "Girls Behaving Badly," and you've seen her on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Bernie Mac Show," "Reno 911" and "The Practice." Her first book, "My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One Night Stands," quickly became a bestseller, and is available everywhere.
Tell us about your worst or most amusing dinner date ever.
"When I was 21, I was set up on a blind date with a 41- year-old with braces. I didn't realize it until dessert came - because his braces were clear - and he got brownie stuck in them. I asked, 'I'm sorry, are you wearing braces? And how old are you?'"
If you were dining with these celebs, you'd be laughing so hard you wouldn't be able to finish your meal:
"The three I'd have trouble keeping a straight face with are Clay Aiken, Paula Abdul and Tom Cruise's baby."
On your hit show, you have a skit where you eat a meal with celebrity look-alikes. Well, what food or dish do you think looks like you?
"The dish I think I most resemble is sirloin. It's got some firm areas and some not-so-firm areas. And it responds well to a red wine reduction."
If you could erase the calories, what would you really want to eat for breakfast every day?
"McDonald's. 'The McRib is back! Back from where, we're not telling!'"
