'Santa vs. the Snowman' . Exploreum welcomes its first-ever animated holiday film
 | | "Santa vs. the Snowman" Family Fun |
| The Gulf Coast Exploreum will be showing the first-ever IMAX animated holiday film, Santa vs. the Snowman, this holiday season. The film will be shown throughout the holidays in the J.L. Bedsole IMAX Dome Theater, and will open the day after Thanksgiving, November 24, and run through January 3, 2007.
Santa vs. the Snowman tells the story of a lonely Snowman who at first is swept away by the magical wonders of Santa's village, only to ultimately wage war on Santa because he's jealous of all the attention Santa gets during Christmas time.
An epic-scale polar war develops. The hilarious battle features such holiday defense mechanisms as hot chocolate squirt guns, giant Igloo Robot Walkers and even a 50-foot tall toy soldier manned by Santa himself.
The film is from the Academy Award nominated team behind the family hit Jimmy Neutron, and is the hilarious brainchild of Steve Oedekerk (co-creator and producer of Jimmy Neutron, writer of The Nutty Professor, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and Patch Adams).
Distinct from any of the animated films of today, Santa vs. the Snowman was reframed and animated with CG technology, captivating the viewer and making them feel as though they are reaching into the screen. This technology results in a truly revolutionary, impressive adventure that transports kids of all ages from the theatre to Santa's Workshop in the North Pole.
The J.L. Bedsole IMAX Dome Theater is the only domed IMAX theater on the Gulf Coast. Currently playing on the IMAX Dome is Roving Mars, which will continue to be shown alongside Santa vs. the Snowman.
