Shop area galleries for unique items for gifts PJC Visual Arts faculty to exhibit starting Nov.6
The Visual Arts Gallery at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts, Pensacola Junior College, is presenting the PJC Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition Nov. 6 through Dec. 12.
This annual show highlights an extensive array of media including ceramics, drawing, digital imaging, graphic design, jewelry, painting, photography and sculpture.
A reception for the artists is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
Artists include Cindy App, Michael Boles, William Clover, Mark Francis, Steve Haworth, David Hines, Mark Hopkins, Carol Horigan, Krist Lien, Larry Manning, Susan Myers, John Olsen, Dough Reiser, Patricia Reppenhagen, Patrick Rowe, Vivian Spencer, Paula Takahashi, Warren Thompson, Virginia Vannemen and Spiros Zachos.

Arts and Design Society hosts Sale-a-bration
From Nov. 16 through Dec. 22 local artist-members of Arts & Design Society are displaying their creations at the gallery for a special Art Sale-a-bration prior to Christmas season.
The Gallery is full of paintings in oils, acrylics, watercolors, and pastels. Some of the works are of the local area done from life, others are sceneries, flowers, impressionistic or abstracts made through collages.
Clay items include teapots, whimsical fish, mermaids, and tree ornaments.
There are also textile creations and other fun items and cards for all seasons, all at attractive prices.
Gallery hours are Tues. through Fri., noon - 4 p.m. or Sat. and Sun., 1 - 4 p.m. The Arts & Design Society's Art Center Gallery is at 17 First Street S.E., Ft. Walton Beach. Call 244-1271 or visit artsdesignsociety.com.
Nov. 10, 11 Milton luncheon features artists' salute to Vets
The GFWC Milton Woman's Club, Inc. will sponsor Women In The Arts, Nov. 10 and 11 at the Milton Clubhouse. The event, Star Spangled Salute to Military Wives, will feature four artists whose husbands are active duty or retired military, according to series chairman and Club vice president, Cecile Stephens.
The three who will have their work on display and for sale and one who will perform include: Sandra Sisk; Victoria Heck; Kristy Olsen; and Sandra Takaro- Miller.
The public is invited to attend a reception for these four outstanding military wives on Friday, November 10 from 5-7 p.m. at the Milton Clubhouse, 6863 Oak Street in Milton. Mrs. Sisk will perform from 6:15-6:45 p.m. Light "soup-er" refreshments will be served. The visual art will remain on display on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
