As we celebrate the new year, we look forward to the fifth anniversary of Splash! Magazine, and thank all of the readers and advertisers that continue to make it Northwest Florida’s leading entertainment magazine.

Splash! is available free of charge to visitors and locals alike, who pick it up free of charge at over 150 rack locations at the Florida’s state line welcome center, on the area’s military installations, at visitors’ centers, or at hotels, shops and restaurants.

This month, you’ll find a very busy January along the Gulf Coast as Mardi Gras season begins.

Snowbirds are arriving to spend a warm winter in Florida, and they’ll enliven our many area activities as many of them were around when Mardi Gras first started on Pensacola Beach!

Pajama parties, king cakes, feathered masks, fancy balls, dubloons and beads are the currency of this festive, fun season that culminates on Fat Tuesday, February 20 of this year.

There’s music, art, theatre and sports going on as well, so keep this issue of Splash! handy to help you set your itinerary.
