McClendon-Covey to star in HBO mocumentary 'Cook-Off'
Q: My kids recently got me watching Comedy Central's "Reno 911!" and I thought I recognized the actress who plays the buxom-blond deputy Clementine Johnson from other shows. What else has she done? -- Anon., via e-mail
A: Deputy Johnson is played by Groundlings Theater discovery Wendi McClendon- Covey, who also stars in the spin-off movie "Reno 911!: Miami," which is now in theaters. She also co-starred in Lifetime's improvisational comedy series "LoveSpring International," produced by "Will & Grace" star Eric McCormack. Look for McClendon-Covey in the feature-film mockumentary "Cook-Off" -- which she cowrote, co-produced and stars in -- premiering at the upcoming HBO Aspen Comedy Festival.
Q: I was shocked to hear of Anna Nicole Smith's sudden death. I feel so bad for her little girl, Dannielynn, to lose her mother at such a young age. Now I fear there will be a custody tug-of-war between the named father, Howard K. Stern, and Anna's alleged ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead. What do you think will become of little Dannielynn? -- Yvette K., via e-mail
McClendon-Covey A: While it's too soon to tell what will happen, as of press time, Dannielynn had yet to undergo the court-ordered DNA test to determine who her father is. My hope is that once that is figured out, whether the father is Stern or Birkhead (the latter is my guess), that the poor little girl will finally stop being the center of controversy, like her mother often was, and will get a chance to grow up being just a normal little girl.
Q: Can you give me information on Josh Bernstein, host of The History Channel's "Digging for the Truth"? I really enjoy his show and admire him a lot. -- Glenda S., Roanoke, Va.
A: Bernstein, 36, has been the host of "Digging" since January 2005, and the show has since become the highestrated series in the history of The History Channel. Our dashing host went to Cornell University, where he doublemajored in Anthropology and Psychology. This past November, his book "Digging for the Truth: One Man's Epic Adventure Exploring the World's Greatest Archaeological Mysteries" was published to great critical and commercial success. In the book he explores Stonehenge, follows the trail of the Lost Ark of the Covenant and sails in a Viking ship, just to name a few of his adventures. Bernstein also has a fraternal twin brother named Andrew.
