Get ready for an exciting line up of bands playing every Tuesday from 7- 9 p.m., May through September at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach. The popular concert series Bands on the Beach, formerly known as Blues on the Beach, returns for another hot summer season. The free concerts are provided by the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA).

"We changed the name from 'Blues on the Beach' to 'Bands on the Beach' to offer a bigger variety," says W.A. "Buck" Lee, general manager of the SRIA. "Blues will still be an essential part, but now we can include oldies, soul and much more. We have booked first-rate bands all summer, so come on out here and bring your dancing shoes!"

Kicking off the season is Wildwood with their upbeat and fun show on May 1, followed by Midnight Confessions on May 8. Big crowds are expected for Not Quite Fab on May 22, the popular Beatles tribute band. During this concert the Marines of MATSG-21 will unveil their US Marine Corps "Pelican in Paradise." Back by popular demand is also The Reunion Band, entertaining the crowd with songs many of us grew up with, on June 5.
