'All That Jazz' features performance and seminar

The Music Study Club of Pensacola begins its fall program with "All That Jazz" presented by Joe Occhipinti's Late Nite Jazz Quartet Sept. 12. This will be a "blow and tell" session where the musical group will perform jazz standard tunes with an explanation of improvisation and how musicians work together to make the unique sounds that make jazz.

Jazz, now approximately a century old, is uniquely American, combining European tradition with syncopated African and Caribbean rhythms.

The presentation will begin at 10 a.m. at Chipley Hall, First Baptist Church, located at 500 N. Palafox Street in Pensacola. For more information visit www.pensacolamusic.org.
