Anne Topolinski, a beloved artist of Quayside Art Gallery, who recently died after a hardfought battle with cancer, will be honored by the members of Quayside Art Gallery, friends, relatives and members of the arts community with a special show, "Anne Topolinski Showcase of Art."
Topolinski began her career as a transparent watercolorist, but later painted exclusively in acrylics or mixed media. She also chose abstracts, looking for a deeper meaning in her art, according to her husband Ski Topolinski. On the days she felt well enough, Anne would paint all day, and in the last few years Anne's work took on a tranquility and simplicity often seen in Oriental paintings.

Blue Morning Gallery trio shares 'visions'
"Visions Transformed" will continue through May 5 featuring paintings and collage by Linda Hawthorne, paintings and ceramics by Becky Makla and jewelry and paintings by Mara Viksnins.
Art often reflects the personal life of the artist. Linda Hawthorne, Becky Makla and Mara Viksnins have come together in this show to express their renewed visions of the past, the present and the future.
Linda Hawthorne's watercolors include a tropical theme based on her life in Hawaii. Her series "Visions of a New Life" depict amazing sunset as a result of her recent move to the beach.
Becky Makla is an exciting artist who likes to step out of the box. She is constantly reinventing herself and her art work reflects her free spirit. She describes her watercolors as "drippy and intuitive." She will include images of nature on the coast. Her new sculptures are one of a kind and organic.
Romantic settings have always been important in Mara Viksnin's work. In her new series, "Visions of Spain," look for her interpretations of Gaudi and the Art Nouveau era.Her jewelry will be romantic as well, with lots of pearls and crystals.
This show is multi-faceted and offers the viewer the
opportunity to explore the new freedom that these artists have discovered. Blue
Morning Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
