'Tom-Kat' purchase mansion in Beverly Hills for $15 million
HOLLYWOOD ... In news from the real estate front, the Cruises bought a manse in Beverly Hills for $15 million. They've been renting up to now. Their new "digs" has seven bedrooms and nine baths! It's gated with a long driveway up to the house, a tennis court, swimming pool and huge grounds. Little Suri won't have to go far for her fun.
Liv Tyler is set to star in "The Incredible Hulk" with Ed Norton. She'll play Betty Ross, longtime love interest of Bruce Banner, the Hulk. The flick shoots this summer in Toronto. Liv's most recent release was "Reign Over Me" with Adam Sandler. Her breakout film was "The Lord of the Rings," and you no doubt know she is the daughter of Steven Tyler, Aerosmith lead singer, AND that she once had a sizzling relationship that fizzled with Joaquin Phoenix.
It was a wonderful evening on Broadway when Angela Lansbury returned to the stage after 29 years. The play is titled "Deuce," and it's about two retired femme tennis players reminiscing while watching a U.S. Open tournament. AND what a career this lady has had: "Auntie Mame" on the stage, "Gaslight" and umpteen others on the screen and "Murder, She Wrote" and more on the tube. Bravo, Angie!

It was a whole new Jane Fonda appearing on "The Late Show" a couple of weeks ago. Blond hair in a great new "do," definitely several facial tucks, and a gorgeous bod. And interestingly, she had only good words for Lindsay Lohan, with whom she worked in her latest pic. She said Lindsay was "nice, affable and a very talented young actress." Several nights later, Lindsay appeared. This time a blonde. She handled herself very well. Answered Dave's questions intelligently and wasn't at all the flyaway person we see around the clubs at night in Hollywood.
If you've never been to Hollywood, you've never seen Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. It's a big tourist attraction because all the stars have left their hand- and footprints in the cement out front. Brad Pitt and Matt Damon recently added theirs to the likes of Monroe, Garbo, Mary Pickford and on and on.
Ethan Hawke's next will be a futuristic vampire film titled "Daybreakers." It is set in 2017, when a plague has changed most of the people in the world into vampires. With the population extinct, the vampires must find a blood substitute. Finally, a group o f vampires make a discovery that has the power to save the human race. This one sure "ain't" going to be my cup of blood.
Paris Hilton is not the only member of the wealthy clan who will have spent time in the "slammer." Did you forget that Zsa Zsa Gabor was once Mrs. Conrad Hilton? She later spent time in the Beverly Hills jail for slapping a policeman.
