| Tim Jackson's Mr. Big will feature world-class music at Evenings in Olde Seville Square on June 7.
Tim Jackson's Mr. Big has it all. The band unites worldclass artists with a fun mix from New Orleans Jazz to American pop, beach music and country. Tim Jackson's Mr. Big will showcase their versatility from 7- 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 at Evenings in Olde Seville Square in downtown Pensacola.
Tim Jackson, former New Orleans resident, was once appointed to the World's Fair Big Band and had a stint with world-renowned artist Pete Fountain. As a freelance bassist and tubist, he has performed with greats such as The Coasters and Bob Hope.
The Evenings in Olde Seville Square concert season continues June 14 with Clark & Company.
When attending concerts, bring a lawn chair or a blanket for seating.
Also, bring your appetite. Located on Alcaniz Street, concession stands also offer sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, sausage, snacks and the Evening's famous freshly popped popcorn as well as frozen desserts, soft drinks and bottled water.
This year's concert series would not have been possible without the support of the Olde Seville Square Club members. Concertgoers can join the club for only $15 annually during any of the concerts.
The Northwest Florida Bloodmobile will also be present from 5- 9 p.m. at every concert on the corner of Alcaniz and Zaragoza Streets offering you the chance to give the gift of life by donating blood.
Since 1988, these musicfilled evenings have become a "new" tradition, recreating the popular concerts held in the city's park at the turn of the 19th century. The 2007 summer season features 14 concerts with a wide variety of musical talents and tastes each Thursday from 7- 9:15 p.m. in historic Seville Square. The "Evenings" are free thanks to our sponsors and are presented by the Pensacola Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the City of Pensacola and the West Florida Historic Preservation. Darren J. Trio rocks the beach
Soul sweating, heart jumping, toe snapping, finger cracking, fiery blues-rock is how Darren J. Trio describes their music. The trio's fiery performance and on-stage antics at Bands on the Beach from 7- 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the Gulfside Pavilion are sure to impress blues lovers and will leave blues novices wanting more.
A mix of rock, blues and soul, Darren J. Trio delivers their music with dramatic and intense feel. Led by 30-year old Darren J. Fallas from Miami Beach, Fla., the band's new album and track, "Panhandle Blues," takes the traditional electric blues sound to the next level with intimate lyrics, heartfelt vocals and Fallas' Texas-style guitar picking and bluesadelic bending.
Fallas will be joined by Doug "Deacon" Burger on bass and Rick Oak on drums.
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the pavilion area. No pets are allowed and glass is prohibited. Concerts are provided and organized by the Santa Rosa Island Authority.
