Northwest Florida greets the fall... southern style
After visiting New England in late September, I am having a hard time calling the slight cooling of temperatures we experience here, "fall," but I am still excited about it! I love the season of Harvest, and I am so proud of the way Northwest Floridians find ways to make the season look and feel like fall! We decorate our porches and front doors with corn stalks, pumpkins and mums, and we welcome the delicate change of season. We may not be surrounded by woods resplendent with orange, red and yellow, but we can look forward to seeing the occasional tree with changing foliage. And, blessed by our mild temperatures, Southerners really like to plan those fall parties!
Check Franklin Hayes' collection of fall and Halloween happenings on page 7 in this month's Splash! magazine, and you will have just a taste of the full offering! Fall is also a time for wine festivals, art festivals, school and church bazaars and so much more, so take a minute to read the Splash! magazine calendar to
We have added a new section to Splash! this month -- our Freedom Pages. The Freedom Pages honor those who serve and offer them military discount savings. We are pleased to make this space available at a significant discount to advertisers who offer YOU savings! The military has a strong presence in Northwest Florida, from those who defend our shores in the air, on land and on the sea. There is also an abundance of military retirees who fell in love with Northwest Florida and decided to make it their permanent home!
