Twelve students of the Pyramid Pensacola School of Fine Arts will perform "Winter Wishes - Holiday Hopes" at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Pensacola Pyramid Center, located at 7309 West Highway 98.

Pyramid serves adults with developmental disabilities and incorporates performing and visual arts into its curriculum to help students nurture their artistic abilities and boost their self-esteem.

Prior to the performance, an art show featuring works created by the students will open at 5:30 p.m. The art and pottery make great Christmas gifts, and all sales will benefit the individual artist and the Pyramid program. Admission is free and open to the public.

"For many of our students, the performing arts provide a positive, meaningful and creative way to interact and socialize," said Carol Culton, Pyramid's performing arts coordinator. "I am constantly overwhelmed at the abilities discovered where disabilities were believed to define so many."
