It's very rare for us to review a Sports Bar, however, we've been hearing up and down the Gulf Coast of a 2 LB Ribeye Steak reported to be a "Big Ass Steak" available at The Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill that recently opened up on Okaloosa Island. So, off we went to check it out!

The Scoreboard is locally owned and operated by Jean Reese, Joe Sullivan, Gene Butler and Christina Galliano. The restaurant is located on Okaloosa Island between Alvin's Island and Pandora's, OPEN 24 HOURS! The Restaurant is downstairs and Club Piranha is upstairs with entertainment and DJ every night. Famous for two incredible offerings: Serving a full breakfast menu from 11:59 pm to 11:59 am and the 2 LB RIBEYE STEAK.

The very first thing you'll noticed upon entering is a big smile on the hostess's face. (We love finding a restaurant where the employees are happy it's a sign of good things to come.)

The Scoreboard is a casual sports grill with all the normal sports memorabilia and large screen TV's adorning the walls.

Although the Scoreboard is not located on the Gulf of Mexico, it does have a nice

BEEF!

view of the intercoastal waterway from the Piranha Club located upstairs. Many of the locals we spoke with had ridden their wave runners, beached them at Marler Park located behind the restaurant, and walked over to enjoy a cool drink on the patio. The restaurant is a nice place for a family meal with the kids or an evening out with your spouse or girlfriend. It's a fun atmosphere to eat and get together with friends.

Open 24/7, they have a menu that'll satisfy everyone at anytime of day or night, Appetizers include the "Best Wings In Town," Steak & Chicken Kabobs, Piranha Bites (Breaded Fish Fingers), Fish n' Chips, Tortilla's Con Queso, and this is only a small sampling of what's available to get you started.

They offer Wraps, Overstuffed Sandwiches, Lunch Kabobs, and Steak Burgers truly made of Ground Steak! Entrees include steak, and of course the 2 Lb Ribeye we've been hearing so much about, Ribs, Seafood, Chicken and Combo Plates. If you're there for breakfast, the menu is just as extensive and unique as the lunch and dinner menus.

Entrees come with your choice of two sides: Salad, Onion Rings, Fries, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Steamed Veggies, Cup of Soup or Chili, Baked Potatoes after 5 p.m. 'til they run out!

Prices range from $3.49 for an appetizer Basket "O" Fries to $39.99 for the 2 Lb Ribeye. BUT… They have a "Big Ass Steak Night" on Tuesdays SO you can partake of the 2 Lb Ribeye for ONLY $19.99. Both the Scoreboard and Piranha offer a full bar along with Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Lemonade, Home brewed Sweet and Un-Sweet Tea and Bottled Water. Happy Hour M-F 4-6 PM. Major Credit Cards Accepted.

Our server Brooke was bubbly and friendly, her name sure fit her personality. We enjoyed an order of Fried Magic Mushrooms which were "out of this world" and ordered the Steak Entrees with salad, baked potatoes and steamed veggies.

The salad, to our surprise, actually arrived with fresh cucumbers, carrots and tomatoes - to be honest, we are disappointed if it's just lettuce - and were pleasantly surprised when they arrived fully loaded like we like them. The steaks were as reported DIVINE! Tender, Juicy and grilled as ordered. Topping that off with Grandma's Hot Caramel Apple Pie Cobbler A La Mode - OH MY GOSH! We definitely didn't leave hungry!

If your looking for a new and unique menu, give the Scoreboard a try, you'll be glad you did!

AND DON'T FORGET, if you're coming across Brooks Bridge, turn right at the light and take "The Reach Around" because you can't make a left at the light on Santa Rosa Blvd. to get to Siebert Drive.
