Seussical' is an extravaganza of fun, brought to you as the season ending performance of Pensacola Little Theatre.

This summer, Treehouse Theatre at Pensacola Little Theatre presents a colorful musical about believing in yourself. "Seussical" is based on the stories of beloved author Dr. Seuss and is sure to be enjoyed by theatre goers of all ages.

 

This magical musical extravaganza lovingly brings to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville! The classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and "thinker of strange and wonderful thinks!" The score is a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, R&B to funk.

Directing duties are shared by two theatre veterans, Roy Bracken and Kathy Holsworth. Bracken is a theatre instructor at Pensacola Junior College who previously directed the award-winn ing Tre ehouse production of "Les Misérables: School Edition." Holsworth, who directed this season's "A Christmas Story," works as Membership Manager for WSRE.

The Treehouse Theatre production of "Seussical" opens July 25 for three weekends. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm and Sundays at 2:30pm. "Seussical" is the final production in Pensacola Little Theatre's 71st season. Our 72nd season of entertaining northwest Florida begins in September with "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Highlights from the coming season include Disney's "High School Musical," the classic drama "Death of a Salesman," and Agatha Christie's thriller, "And Then There Were None."
