Kids Art Expo 2008 introduces children to art organizations

| Looking for a way to expose your children to art? A collaborative event with area non-profit organizations, KIDS ART EXPO is Treehouse Theatre's annual arts and culture exposition for children and parents.
Taking place Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pensacola Museum of Art, the event introduces children to the Pensacola Bay area arts organizations, including Pensacola Little Theatre, Pensacola Museum of Art, Belmont Arts & Culture Center, Pensacola Jazz Society, Kaleidoscope & Ballet Pensacola, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Pensacola Junior College and Pensacola Bay Area Junior Cotillions, and what they have to offer including after-school classes, summer camps and upcoming events.
KIDS ART EXPO is free and open to the public.
Quayside's new members show, Art X Seven, opens Jan. 4 Quayside Gallery is throwing open the doors to welcome new artists: Betty Woods, Dennis Boyce, Nancy Lockwood, Joseph Diaco, Clay Hamlet, Amy Monahan and Elaine Foshee.
The seven new artists will have works of paintings, photography, clay, wire sculpture, pastels and much more at the new member show, Art X Seven, shown at the 17 E. Zaragoze St. in Pensacola beginning January 4.
Some of the artists talk about their work. Lockwood does watercolors, pastels and pottery. Her art journey has taken her through drawing, painting and pottery classes as well as various workshops.
This show will also feature photography by Dennis Boyce, watercolor flowers by Joseph Diaco, 3-D bead and wire sculptures by Amy Monahan, Spirit Boxes by Elaine Foshee and oil and pastel artwork by Betty Woods
Quayside gallery is open from 10 to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Details: 438- 2363 or 932-4642.
