Valentine's Day gift ideas for dummies Guys
by Scott Page
Valentine's Day is known as the day that Cupid pierces lovers' hearts with his affectionate arrows, causing them to exchange cards, flowers, candy and other "symbols" of love. Most men enjoy the idea of showering their girl with affection, but may not feel that it can be accomplished by giving them predictable Valentine's Day gifts and spending excessive amounts of money.
For guys who actually want to make this Valentine's Day memorable and want to be financially practical, there are many truly meaningful gifts and activities available in Northwest Florida to make her feel special. It just takes a little time, effort and creativity.
1. The first thing you can do is write her a sweet note or letter, instead of buying a card. After all, it is your love you are expressing, so why give her a card with a stranger's words and you're signature in it?
2.Candy, especially the heart-shaped mystery chocolate box, is another predictable gift that will only earn you a Bat best. If you want to score an A+, take your Valentine to Candymaker, in Destin, and enjoy some authentic saltwater taffy. Not only will you be able to give her the all-important candy, but also the time you spend together during the trip will be much more memorable.
3. Roses are a symbol of love, and not surprisingly are a common gift on Valentine's Day. This year, give her flowers and much more by taking her to Eden Gardens State Park. Located in Point Washington, Eden Gardens is home to a variety of romantic settings that include Rose, Azalea and Butterfly Gardens and a Reflection Pool.
4. What says "I love you" more than a cute and cuddly stuffed animal? Listen, no woman over the age of 12 is genuinely excited to receive a stuffed animal. Instead, take her to the Zoo. The two of you can spend time together and watch the real animals as they play. Also, the money you spend at the Zoo will also help preserve one of Northwest Florida's most precious resources.
5. Time away with the one you love, uninterrupted, is a perfect gift of love! Highpointe Hotel Corporation operates four hotels in the Pensacola area, as well as a new Hampton Inn and Suites in Mobile, Alabama, and five properties in Louisiana. Convenience in location, with properties at the beach, airport and downtown areas, make the perfect location an easy decision!
6. For a beach getaway, visit the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pensacola Beach, offering spectacular views of the sugar white sands and emerald green waters of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Experience historic downtown Pensacola at the Residence Inn by Marriott.
7. Jewelry is an extremely popular Valentine's Day gift. Some guys, however, aren't able to shower their gal with expensive jewelry. If that's the case, take her for a romantic walk along the beach and collect seashells, with which you could make a meaningful necklace or bracelet. She will treasure it forever.
8. After your romantic walk, surprise her with a bottle of wine and a blanket. Go to a secluded spot and enjoy a sunset on the beach! What is more romantic, and affordable, than that? You could even bring some of her favorite food and flatter her with a candlelight dinner, if it's not too cold!
9. The Emerald Coast offers many exciting adventure ideas that upon being shared with the one you love will not easily, if ever, be forgotten. Take her on a dolphin cruise. She might enjoy a relaxing boat ride that includes music, dolphin watching and bird feeding. You could also take one of Adventures Unlimited's weekend canoeing trips through the Blackwater River State Forest. The two of you could rent one of the cozy cabins, and spend the weekend alone, with no interruptions.
10. Amidst all the commercials designed to "inform" men as to what Valentine's Day gifts will make women happy, it is easy to forget what she wants the most- your love, effort and affection. There is no price tag on that. If you want to make her happy this Valentine's Day, and every day of the year for that matter, remember that time well spent goes a lot further than money well spent. Your effort and creativity are much more effective in expressing your love than a $20 stuffed animal that says, "Be mine" with the push of a button.
