One of the many luxuries we as local residents have is the ability to dine at the many restaurants up and down the Gulf Coast. Take a drive out to Okaloosa Island and spend the day on The Boardwalk, and then enjoy watching the sunset while dining at Floyd's Shrimp House. Floyd's was established on The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island in 2001; Floyd's is not a chain so you will only enjoy this casual rustic old fish camp open air atmosphere here on Okaloosa Island.
Floyd's is open for lunch and dinner, allowing you the choice of inside or outside seating right on the Gulf of Mexico. There are big screen and small screen TV's located throughout the restaurant, to many to count, and every seat in the house has a great view of the ongoing sports broadcast. Floyd's offers a full bar, specialty drinks and even a take home glass for the tourist in all of us. The menu offers something for everyone including the kids, seafood, fresh gulf shrimp, crab, lobster, chicken, pork, steak and ranges from appetizers of shrimp, oysters, gator bits, crab claws and tuna dip, salads and sandwiches to combo platters, fry baskets and full dinners all fixed the way you like it, fried, grilled, blackened and broiled.
At Floyd's Shrimp House you can expect to have the catch of the day straight from the ocean. The specialty of the house is the Floyd's All You Can Eat Real Gulf Shrimp, fried fresh shrimp with french fries and slaw or boiled fresh shrimp with new potatoes or corn on the cob, currently priced at $15.99 per person. Floyd's is also becoming famous for their Redneck Sushi, a perfect nibble to start your meal off right! Menu prices range from $3.99 for a garden salad to $20.99 for pan seared grouper. Side items include french fries, cole slaw, red beans, rice, steamed veggies, mash or new potatoes or corn on the cob.
The all you can eat "real" gulf shrimp ordered by members of our group was a slice of heaven, large, tasty, and cooked just right. Our waitress Elizabeth was never out of earshot and replenished empty baskets quickly with fresh fried or boiled depending on our request. The Floyd's Jumbo Shrimp dinner that I ordered blackened came perfectly grilled with a side of steamed veggies; the veggies consisted of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower and were steamed to perfection. The others enjoyed their sides of cole slaw, although they are served in small portions, it's just the right amount to compliment your meal. The employees exceeded our expectations; they were courteous, helpful, smiled and were quick to take our orders.
Floyd's can accommodate large parties. There's a children's play area off the boardwalk for the kids, and a gift shop selling T-shirts in the lobby. For those of you over 21, you'll get free admission to the Swamp Club with your food receipt from Floyd's. (Excluding Swamp concert Events)

Floyd's accepts credit cards and cash, but no checks and is open every day at 11 a.m.
