'Two and a Half Men' are not a duet by Cindy Elavsky
Q: One of my favorite shows is "Two and a Half Men." Can you tell me if the stars sing the theme song? - F.L., via e-mail
A: The opening of the popular CBS sitcom, starring Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, features the stars lip-syncing the theme song. The song is, in fact, sung by studio singers - one of whom is actress/voice-over artist Elizabeth (E.G.) Daily. Her prolific resume includes "Rugrats," "Happy Feet," "Babe: Pig in the City" and "The Powerpuff Girls." She also co-starred in "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," "Lorenzo's Oil" and "Dogfight."

Q: I was so sad when I heard that Patrick Swayze was battling pancreatic cancer. How is he doing? -
Sheen

A: Patrick is in high spirits, and his doctor says he is responding very well to treatment. Patrick and his wife, Lisa, issued this joint statement to his fans recently: "We're thrilled and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown toward his treatment. Also, we can't help but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way by everyone has made a difference. Thank you." So, keep those positive thoughts coming.

Q: The actress who played Maryann on "Gilligan's Island" was in a movie years ago in which she was kidnapped by Indians and lived with them for a while. A young chief loved her, and I believe she loved him. At the end, he let her go. Do you know the name of the movie? Is it on video? - Josephine R.
A: The movie you're thinking of is "Winterhawk." In addition to Dawn Wells, the 1975 film starred Leif Erickson, Michael Dante, Woody Strode and Denver Pyle. The movie was ahead of its time in that Native Americans weren't portrayed simply as "the bad guys," like in so many previous Westerns.
In the movie, Chief Winterhawk (Dante) is double-crossed by white traders while trying to make a deal for medicine for smallpox. In retaliation, he takes hostages, one of whom is Clayanna Finley (Wells), in order to negotiate for the medicine. Throughout their ordeal, they do indeed fall in love, as Clayanna begins to understand and respect Winterhawk's beliefs, spirituality and values. "Winterhawk" is available on VHS tape.
