The moment I stepped out of my car, the smells of summer barbecues and 4th of July cookouts brought back memories from my childhood. You know that saying: "You had me at Hello?"

The smell of Logan's had me in the parking lot! Aah, the smell of BBQ Ribs! Our lips were smacking and stomachs were growling by the time we entered the door and were greeted by an enthusiastic and smiling hostess.

When you enter Logan's, you'll be stepping back in time to a classic roadhouse atmosphere. It's an upbeat, casual dining experience you don't want to miss. So, come as you are, leave your troubles at the door and "throw the peanuts" on the floor!

Logan's is famous for their aged steaks hand-cut fresh on the premises, mesquite-grilled chicken, fresh ground steak burgers, baby-back ribs, seafood, and specialty salads. Let's not forget the mouthwatering, made-from-scratch yeast rolls, and bottomless buckets of in-shell peanuts.

Heading to our table for lunch we noticed the crunch of peanut shells under foot and lively tunes coming from the juke box. If you don't throw your peanut shells on the floor, your server will! So, don't be shy, don't be embarrassed; when you've got a pile of peanut shells in front of you... push them off the table onto the floor and have fun doing it because you can't do that at home.

The menu offers moderate prices from Logan's awardwinning cup of Chili for $2.99 to the 20-ounce Porterhouse Steak priced right at $19.99 and features over 30 entrees. With a variety of appetizers, soup and chili, farm-fresh salads, steak burgers, roadhouse sandwiches, entrees, combo entrees, full meals and - yes, oh yes! - desserts, you'll be sure to please everyone at the table.

We selected a little bit of everything in our group so we could share. We ordered the Deluxe Burger, a special blend of ground sirloin, chuck and steak, seasoned with natural spices and served on a toasted bun.

All sandwiches and burgers include homestyle potato chips. Also ordered the Triple Shrimp Skewer, three skewers of shrimp, zucchini and red onion grilled to perfection. Porkies, three made-fromscratch yeast rolls with hard-wood smoked, slightly spicy, chipotle BBQ pulled pork. Topped with coleslaw and sliced pickles.

We ordered a half portion of the BBQ ribs which are rubbed with a unique blend of seasonings, slow roasted for over eight hours in-house every day, and then grilled to perfection over an open flame. All meals and entrees come with two side items, and there are many to choose from. We chose the grilled vegetable skewer, macaroni & cheese, house salads and sautéed mushrooms. For those of you with special diet needs, I want you to know that you can order anything the way you want it. It is "not a problem" at Logan's to special order a meal to meet your needs.

The meals were served in record time - especially at lunch time, which impressed us. We hunkered down and dug in for an absolute lunch to remember. I can't tell you the last time I had ribs that were so tender the meat fell off the bone. The ribs were absolutely delicious!! I wish we would have ordered the full portion, doggone it!

I'm definitely going back for more with my family. What can I tell you about the Porkies other than when you bite into a fresh roll filled with pulled pork, you can't stop at one, trust me; you'll finish all three of 'em. As for the steak burger and grilled shrimp skewers? You'll just have to come on down to Logan's and see for yourself how a steak burger and grilled shrimp are supposed to taste!

Now, let's get to the good part: dessert! Logan's offers New York Style Cheesecake and a Big and Chewy Hot Fudge Brownie. They also offer something new and unique, Mini Buckets. Mini peanut buckets with layers of flavors, and the bucket is yours to keep! There are three to choose from, Nutter Butter® Fudgeslide, Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Brownie. Trying to be ladies, we chose the Mini Buckets as they are $1.99 each or 3 for $5 (of course, we tried all three). After eating a Mini Bucket you'll understand what we mean when we say "one is all you need." There was total silence at our table after the first spoon was dipped in the Mini Bucket! They Were good!

So folks, grab your mother in-law, throw the kids in the car and get on down to Logan's!
