Located at 348 Gulf Breeze Pkwy in the Bruno's shopping center, this casual, comfortable restaurant serves up a variety of foods ranging from the "oh-so-spicy" Camarones a la Diabla, also known as One Dozen Shrimp fried in a special spicy sauce and served with rice and beans, to kidfriendly chicken fingers, quesadillas and tacos.

Both finely crafted cuisine and offerings that please the masses are on the menu.

"I love eating here," praises Bob Cutter, Tiger Point resident. "I like Mexican food but I love nachos, and they have great nachos here at Monterrey's!"

Cutter's wife, Mary Anne, enjoys the quesadilla. Both like snacking on the chips and salsa while they await the arrival of their entrees.

"We've lived in the Gulf Breeze area for nearly 20 years," Cutter says. "I really like coming here for lunch." Consistent with the reputation of Mexican fare as being both filling and affordable, pricing of the meals at Monterrey Grill is fair r . Children's Meals are all priced under $4, and lunch specials range from $4.99 to $10.

Margaritas, soft drinks, coffee, tea, lemonade and both domestic and Mexican beers are available.

"We have specials all the time," says owner Ursula Pinho. "Sometimes the specials are more affordable versions of customer favorites and some times our chef just tries some really good variations, or whips up regional favorites for us to try."

Though the restaurant opened in May, 2008, they already have a loyal fan base.

"Sometimes our customers come to us and they ask us to try something new, or add onions or something, and we are always willing to serve and please our clientele," Pinho says. "For us, working in Gulf Breeze is a real pleasure. The people are so sweet and we feel like a part of the community."
