Choral Society of Pensacola presents American Celebrations

The Choral Society of Pensacola presents a concert titled "American Celebrations" at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Olive Road Baptist Church, located at 1836 East Olive Road in Pensacola.

This concert will offer an inspiring celebration of American music, including a performance of Randall Thompson's Testament of Freedom, works by legendary composers Stephen Foster and Aaron Copland, American spirituals, patriotic works, and more.

"American Celebrations" will feature the 60 singers of the Choral Society of Pensacola; the 75-member Pensacola Civic Band, under the direction of Don Snowden; and special guest soloist, Dr. Leo Day, renowned tenor and Minster of Music at Olive Baptist Church. Choral Society Artistic Director, Xiaolun Chen will conduct the concert.

Tickets for the concert are $15 for reserved seating, $12 general admission, and $5 for students. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted for advance ticket sales, and there is a $2 discount per ticket on the purchase of reserved or general admission tickets for groups of 10 or more. Tickets can also be purchased with cash or check through the Pensacola Junior College Lyceum Ticket Office (850-484-1847). Tickets for Choral Society concerts are always available at the door on performance nights.
