Participate in the 39th Annual Pensacola International Billfish Tournament

Taking place July 1-5 on Palafox Pier in Downtown Pensacola. Part of the World Billfish Series, this Fourth of July weekend tournament offers $575,000 in cash and prizes. Competition is for first, second and third places for Blue Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo and Dolphin, as well as Broad bill Swordfish and Top Catch and Release Anger and Boat. Navarre hosts community fireworks

The Navarre Area Board of Realtors together with the Santa Rosa Tourist Development Council is coordinating this year's fireworks in conjunction with the popular Thursday Night Music in the Park performance on the evening of July 2 in Navarre Park. Please make your check payable to NABOR, noting "Fireworks" in the memo. Donations of any amount are welcome and supporters will be recognized at the event. A receipt for your support will be mailed by return. Please feel free to pass this request to any other organization you feel may be interested in helping us to promote the event.

Come to the Independence Day Celebration in Destin

The City of Destin will host an Independence Day Celebration on Friday night, July 3 at the Morgan's Sports Complex Soccer Fields. There will be a Kid's Bike Parade, concert, food and family fun from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Check in for the bike parade is 5 p.m. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket! Sorry, no pets allowed. The Sounds of Summer with Dave Tucker and the DMT's live at Quietwater Shell

Comedian Dave Tucker puts away his punch lines and brings his rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues band, Dave Tucker and the DMTs, to Sounds of Summer from 6- 8 p.m. on Friday, July 3 at the Quietwater Shell on the Boardwalk, delivering a onetwo punch of hits. Tucker is joined by lead guitarist Mike Cibula and Ron Stanley on percussion. The DMTs will rock you with a song list from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Lenny Kravitz and so much in between. A three day Celebration of America's Independence starting on July 3 to the 5. The weekend starts at 3 p.m. on Friday with free live music at the Gulfside Pavilion. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dave Tucker and the DMT's will perform at the Shell on the Portofino Boardwalk and U.A.G. Band (reggae) will play at the Gulfside Pavilion. At 9 p.m. at the Pavilion Funcoast Productions will host a free showing of the movie Forest Gump. Saturday July is a day of family fun. The Gulf Side Pavilion will have live music by Richard Bowen from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. followed by The Slammers. "The Shell" on the Portofino Boardwalk will feature the U.A.G. Band from 6 p.m. until the fireworks begin. Kaboom---one of the biggest and best fireworks displays on the coast will start at 9 pm and feature over 2,200 aerial shells. Produced by Fun Coast Promotions, a spectacular fireworks extravaganza will take place over Santa Rosa Sound. The three day event concludes Sunday July 5th with more live music at the Gulfside Pavilion from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Joe Occhipinti playing Jazz from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Quietwater Shell.

Alternative Bridal Show held in Downtown Pensacola

In Pensacola a collection of bridal jewelry, floral art, world-class photography, make-up and hair, music, catering . . . virtually everything but the bridal gown may be touched, tasted, listened to and sampled during this alternative bridal show, Everything but the Dress; the Wedding as a Muse. Gallery Night on July 10

Gallery Night is from 5 - 9 pm on July 10 in downtown Pensacola, and includes more than fifty merchant participants. Complimentary parking will be available in the Baylen Street garage at Government Street or the Baylen Street parking lot at Romana Street. Free trolley service will be provided. UWF hosts The Argonaut 5K

On July 11, the Argonaut 5k will take place at the UWF Track/Soccer Complex. Times for the event are 7 am for registration and 8 am is the 5k Run; ending with a 9:15 am Award Ceremony. Pensacola hosts Repticon

Repticon will commence July 11 through the 12 featuring reptile and amphibian breeders and wholesalers, reptile pet products and supplies, educational seminars and exhibits, and fun-filled activities for the entire family at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds!

Bikers Ride for charity

Mark your calendars for Sunday July 12. Bikers Ride is a fundraising event for the Santa Rosa Kids House. Starting in the parking lot of Home Depot off Highway 90 in Pace. Will return to the Santa Rosa Kids House. Just $10.00 per rider, just show up and lunch and soft drinks/water provided. Donations are appreciated but not required. First 100 riders receive a lapel pin.

Bay Point hosts Invitational 26th Annual Billfish Tournament

On July 15-19 at Bay Point Marina on Panama City Beach is one of the most prestigious billfish tournaments along the billfish circuit the Bay Point Invitational made history last year by going full release for all billfish - a significant change that was embraced by participants and spectators alike. Crab Cake Cook Off to benefit ARC

The Kid's Dentist, Stu Bonnin, is proud to present the 2009 Crab Cake Cook Off! On Tuesday, July 14, the Seville Quarter will host this terrific event to benefit the ARC Gateway foundation. Admission is $35 per person and from 6 to 8 p.m. attendees will enjoy crab cakes prepared by more than 20 of the area's best restaurants, a wine tasting and a silent auction. The Reunion Band live at Quietwater Shell

Crowd favorite, The Reunion Band, get the crowd dancing at Bands on the Beach from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 at the Gulfside Pavilion with an eclectic blend of high-energy dance beats from the '60s and '70s, R&B, British invasion hits, and Motown. Their lively playlist is sure to get the audience out of their lawn chairs and boogieing down on the Pavilion. The band is well known for their catchy covers of ever-popular songs such as "Mustang Sally" and "Pretty Woman," as well as hits by The Beatles' including "I'm a Believer."

Pensacola hosts Tour-iffic Summer Ghost Tours

From July 24 to the July 25, the Pensacola Historical Museum will be hosting a ghost tour for all ages. There are two walking tours to choose from this summer: the family-friendly Seville Tour and the adults-only Redlight Tour. Rent a ghost meter for $5 per tour. Walk up tickets are preferred. Purchase tickets inside the Pensacola Historical Museum on the night of the tours. No refunds. On both days the times run from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. El Cantador and Oh Archipelago live at Sluggo's

Dunnottar live at Quietwater Shell

Dunnottar was formed in August 1988 and was named after a castle that one of the original trio had just visited in Scotland. The band winds down the month at Sounds of Summer from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 31 at the Quietwater Shell on the Boardwalk with their fastpaced guitar rock, blue, strong vocals and plenty of well-known tunes.
