Art Praha explores life by the sea!

. . Art Praha, Pensacola's exclusive European Art Gallery, is currently showing a collection of art works titled "Exploring Life by Sea!" from Russian watercolor master artist Konstantyn Sylin and glass artist Jill Elkins from Sweden.

Elkin was born and raised in Småland, Sweden, very close to the "Glass Capitol" of Sweden (Orrefors, Kosta Boda and many others).

She started her lampworking career in August 1998 in Hawaii, where she learned from the very talented glass artists at Maui Crystal in Lahaina, Maui.

In 1999 she moved to the North Shore, Oahu and there continued as an apprentice for Krista Woodward at Oceans in Glass, Haleiwa.

In 2001, another move took her to Traverse City, Michigan, where she opened her own studio.

She now lives in Mobile, Alabama, with her husband and two children.

A recognized artist in the Ukraine and Russia, Sylin has painted on location in Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and the United States of America, enjoying personal exhibitions in each of these locations, as well as in Ukraine, Russia, Italy, France and Japan . A large album of his "Gerlitz Architectural Landscapes" was published in Germany in 1996.

His watercolors are in prestigious public and private collections in the Ukraine, Russia, European countries, the United States and Japan. In Pensacola, he received the Cinco Banderas 2004 purchase award for his marine watercolor, "The Black Sea Beach."
