Oct. 3: Pensacola Symphony

Catch the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra on opening night, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m., featuring conductor Peter Rubardt and pianist Jon Nakamatsu.

The program includes Wagner - Die Meistersinger Overture, Rachmaninoff - Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue, and Strauss - Till Eulenspiegel.

Oct. 17: Queensryche

See American metal band Queensryche on The American Soldier Tour on Oct. 17 at 8 p.m.

One of the most distinctive bands of the 1980's heavy metal era, Queensryche broke into the mainstream with their highly acclaimed 1988 album Operation Mindcrime. The follow up album, Empire, was the group's biggest success due to the hit "Silent Lucidity."

Oct. 20: Bonnie Raitt

The nine-time Grammy winner will grace the newly renovated Saenger Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m.

More than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter, Bonnie Raitt has become an institution in American music.

Tickets for the March 11 performance will not be honored for the October 20 concert. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase.

Oct. 30: Sleeping Beauty

On the eve of Halloween, Friday, October 30, at 6 p.m., Ballet Pensacola presents the famous fairy tale, the Sleeping Beauty in the newly renovated Saenger Theatre.

The hour-long production is perfect for all ages and features narration to help tell the tale. The evening will also feature a costume contest.

Attendees, in costume, will be judged for a chance to win tickets to Ballet Pensacola's production of the Nutcracker.
