A Delicious Substitute
By Nick Noyes Splash!

The Knuckle Sandwich is a huge club sandwich The Knuckle Sandwich is a huge club sandwich What happens when the BLT sandwich loses the bacon? Usually it would result in an abomination of a sandwich unless you are eating a vegan BLT sandwich from End of the Line Cafe.

Jennifer Knight and Ryan Modee created a veritable delicious monster in their cafe. Six years in business, the vegan restaurant sports an all organic, all vegetable and tofu menu supplemented with coffee and other odd drinks.

The restaurant is very inviting and has one central room; from the couch to the chairs and tables, everything has a homey, broken in feeling. The wait staff are very friendly and are very capable. The only rule is that the customer clears their plates to the restaurants dirty dish area.

Open Tuesday through Sunday, the staff prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner using substitutes for meat and cheese that are so well prepared, one can't tell the difference. Every Sunday there is a brunch special with a whole slew of different courses prepared for the customer, including a delicious dessert, while Thursdays have dinner specials that are only available between the hours of six to nine.

Unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Sundays they are only opened until 3 p.m. instead of the normal 10 p.m. If a take home meal is desired, the staff have a variety of boxes to transport meals home safely and easily. On top of their duties of preparing food for customers in the store, there is a delivery service, using bikes, for home delivered meals and catering is available as well.

A great substitute and delicious food is in store at the End of the Line Café. Located off of 610 E. Wright St, situated by the Civic Center, this quaint little restaurant is definitely worth the time.
