Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Jerry Eubanks wants to inform the public that the National Seashore is offering several ranger-led activities for the fall and winter season.

Fort Pickens Area

The Fort Pickens Area is open daily 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fort Pickens Visitor Center is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. November through February. Ranger guided tours daily at 2 p.m. (30-45 minutes).

Stargazing with the EAAA: Weather permitting, meet at Battery Worth Picnic Area. Fridays, Oct. 16, March 19, and April 16, sunset to 10:00 p.m.

Campfire Program at Historic Fort Pickens: Enjoy stories about the National Park Service and the National Seashore. Meet inside historic Fort Pickens. Bring a lawn chair. Saturday, Jan. 2 at 5:00 p.m. (1 hour)

Fort Barrancas Area

Located on board Pensacola Naval Air Station, Fort Barrancas Visitor Center is open 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. November through February. Fort Barrancas ranger guided tours, daily at 2 p.m. (30 – 45 minutes) Advanced Redoubt ranger guided tours, Saturdays at 11 a.m. (30 – 45 minutes).

Candlelight Tours of Fort Barrancas: Reservations are required. Call (850) 455-5167 for a reservation. Tours depart the visitor center every 15 minutes and last one hour. Saturdays, Jan. 30, and Feb. 13, 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Naval Live Oaks Area

Located in Gulf Breeze. Naval Live Oaks Visitor Center is open daily 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Orientation program and videos available on request. Call 934-2600 for more information.

Southeastern Native Americans and Indians of Pensacola Bay: Auditorium program at Naval Live Oaks Visitor Center, Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. (1 hour).

39th Anniversary event of the National Seashore: Auditorium program at Naval Live Oaks Visitor Center Friday, Jan. 8, 5:30 p.m. Encore presentation of the Public Broadcasting production of Gulf Islands National Seashore: The Treasure of the Gulf Coast. (1 hour).
