‘Evenings’ returns to Olde Seville Square with holiday version
Holiday Evenings in Olde Seville Square offer concertgoers the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful park, listen to favorite holiday songs and help less fortunate families in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.
The tree-lined park comes alive with the sights and sounds of the holidays as family and friends gather for "A Holiday Evening in Olde Seville Square" from 6:30-9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 in Seville Square in Historic Downtown Pensacola.
The McGuire's Bagpipe Band will kick off the evening with several all-holiday tunes, followed by a reading of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by WEAR anchor Jared Willets. Clark & Company will then take the stage to play your favorite Christmas songs including the very popular, "Twelve Days of Christmas."
The Pensacola Civic Band, under the direction of Don Snowden, will entertain the audience with a Christmas Jazz Suite, "Silent Night," "Winter Wonderland," "T'was in the Moon of Wintertime" and many oth- ers. The audience is invited to join in singing along to holiday carols during a candle lighting ceremony accompanied by the Civic Band. Song sheets will be available.
In the true spirit of Christmas, this Holiday Evening benefits Communities Caring at Christmas. Concertgoers are encouraged to donate to this organization during the Holiday Evening to help families in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties with new clothes, toys and household essentials for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Since 1979, WEAR-TV 3's Communities Caring at Christmas program has served many children who are victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment who are in the custody of the state.
