Handel's Messiah, December 5

Pensacola Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is offering two holiday performances in December. The first performance, Handel's Messiah, on December 5, at 7:30 pm at St. Paul Catholic Church, gets audience members into the spirit of the season. PSO joins with the Choral Society of Pensacola and the University of West Florida Singers to perform arguably one of the most popular works in Western choral literature. Guest artists Jane Redding, soprano, Wanda Brister, mezzo-soprano, Leo Day, tenor, and Alexander Elliot, baritone, round out the expansive choral arrangement which includes Messiah's signature "Hallelujah!" chorus.

New Year’s Eve at the Saenger

Celebrate the New Year, on December 31, at 8:00 pm at the Saenger Theatre. Diane Penning, soprano, joins the Pensacola Symphony to welcome 2010 with popular favorites from Gershwin, Sondheim, and the Big Band era. Penning, equally at home in classical repertoire and pops, has performed with orchestras around the country. Energizing with clean musical lines that capture the spirit of the music, her appearance with PSO will be an event to remember.

Tickets for both events are on sale now. Call the PSO office at (850) 435-2533 or order online at www.pensacolasymphony. com
