frequent flyer ticket will take you around the world

Is your family looking to get away this summer? The Exploreum has three adventurous destinations and a first-class ticket waiting for you!

Since the end of May, the Exploreum has been showing three action-packed films in the J.L. Bedsole IMAX® Dome Theater.

“Adventures in Wild California,” “Dolphins,” and “Everest” will give viewers a chance to travel the expanses of the globe without leaving Gulf Coast. Also, when you join our Summer IMAX Frequent Flyer Program, you’ll be able to see all three films for the price of two!

Frequent Flyer members may see all three films on the same day or choose to spread out their adventure and see the films anytime before Labor Day.

“Adventures in Wild California” dives head-first, literally, into the state that makes up much of our western shore. From the tallest mountain in the continental United States to the world’s largest ocean waves, California has it all. Show times for this film are Monday through Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Saturdays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

“Dolphins” gives viewers a chance to swim alongside wild dolphins. In this film, scientists travel to the Bahamas and Patagonia to study the complex world of these graceful creatures. This film will be shown Monday through Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.

“Everest” chronicles the true story of a group of climbers who sought the peak of the world’s highest mountain in 1996. After friends and fellow climbers died making this same journey, the group of mountaineers featured in the film show the true beauty of the human spirit as they push on to the top with the heaviest camera to ever record the mountain’s peak in tow. Everest show times are Monday through Friday at 3 p.m.; Saturdays at 3 p.m.; and Sundays at 4 p.m.

“Adventures in Wild California” and “Everest” will run through October 1, while “Dolphins” will continue until November 5.
