He classifies herself as a third generation “Hawaiian.”

Her grandparents moved there from California and Canada to find work in the Sugar industry in the early 1900’s.

Copson and her husband moved to Pensacola in 1990, after living in Europe, Texas, and New Mexico while he was serving in the military (Army).

Her creative visions inspire most of her art, through which she aims to tell a story.

“When creating art, I begin with an idea – from childhood memories in Hawaii, to travel experiences in Europe and Egypt.

“Some of my work has a bit of humor and the unexpected – with a wink to the Surrealists. Each work has a story, bringing the viewer in to experience my creative vision.

Copson works with mediums including: watercolor, pastel, collage and mixed media.

Copson also work as an art instructor, illustrator, and graphic artist.

Copson’s original art work has been shown locally at various art galleries such as: Pink Picasso, Montage, Artel, The Lee House, and even the 2009 members show at the Pensacola Museum of Art.
